CoServ Electric to Purchase More Power from 7X’s Lapetus Energy Project

Austin TX, December 10th, 2018 – CoServ Electric and 7X Energy, Inc. have executed a power purchase agreement (PPA) that will bring 26.5MW solar capacity from 7X’s Lapetus facility in Andrews County, Texas starting 12/31/2019.  CoServ previously closed PPA negotiations earlier in 2018 with 7X from the same 7X Lapetus Energy Project, bringing CoServ’s total off-take to 51.5MW.  A unique solar product attribute about the PPA, is that 7X will remove intermittent variability associated with solar generation from the facility by delivering fixed hourly blocks of energy.

NRCO managed the RFP and assisted in the PPA negotiations.

Brazos to Purchase More Power from 7X’s Lapetus Energy Project

Brazos Electric and 7X Energy, Inc have executed a power purchase agreement (PPA) that will bring an additional 42.5MWs of solar capacity from 7X’s Lapetus facility in Andrews County, Texas, and the PPA will start on 12/31/2019.  Brazos and CoServ previously closed a PPA negotiation earlier in 2018 with 7X from the same 7X Lapetus Energy Project.  A unique solar product attribute about the PPA, is that 7X will remove intermittent variability associated with solar generation from the facility by delivering fixed hourly blocks of energy.

NRCO managed the RFP and assisted in the PPA negotiations.

NRCO Issues RFP on behalf of NCEMC for projects using swine and/or poultry waste

Carmel, IN – August 21st, 2018 – National Renewable Cooperative Organization (NRCO), on behalf of North Carolina Electric Membership Cooperative (NCEMC), requests proposals for complying with North Carolina’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard (REPS), outlined in N.C. Gen. Stat. 62-133.8 sections (e) & (f) for compliance year 2018 and beyond.  Specifically NRCO is requesting proposals that provide:

  1. Biogas from Swine waste or Poultry waste, or
  2. Electricity RECs generated from Swine waste, or
  3. Electricity and RECs generated from Poultry waste, or
  4. Swine and Poultry REC-only offers (In & Out-of-State)

NRCO is seeking RFP responses by September 21st 2018.

Connexus Energy to Construct 10MW Solar & 15MW Storage Project

Connexus Energy announced the start of construction of a 10 MW solar and 15 MW battery storage project. The project, to be located at two sites within Connexus’ service territory, is the first of its kind to provide cost-effective renewable energy to Connexus’ members with the incorporation of batteries to manage peak demand charges. Connexus engaged NRCO to facilitate a Request for Proposal and structure the transaction with Connexus partners’ Engie North America and NextEra Energy Resources.

Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) will purchase 100MWs from Wildhorse Mountain Wind Facility

May 29th, 2018 – Southern Power announced the acquisition of the 100MW Wildhorse Mountain Wind Facility from Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. (RES). NRCO’s member, Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC), will receive all electric energy, capacity and other attributes from the project under a 20-year power purchase agreement starting in the fourth quarter of 2019.

NRCO originated the project as part of its 2016 RFI solicitation and advised on the PPA negotiations.

Brazos & CoServ Electric sign PPA with 7X Energy

Austin TX, May 24th, 2018 – Brazos Electric, CoServ Electric and 7X Energy, Inc. have executed a power purchase agreement (PPA) that will bring 25MWs of solar capacity from 7X’s Lapetus facility in Andrews County, Texas, and will be commercially available in 2019.  As unique attribute about the deal, 7X will remove intermittent variability associated with solar generation from the facility by delivering fixed blocks of energy.

NRCO managed the RFP and led the PPA negotiations for this unique product.

Hoosier Energy Rural Electric Cooperative to add 200MW of Solar

WINCHESTER, IN, April 6, 2018 – Hoosier Energy Rural Electric Cooperative, Inc. and EDP Renewables (EDPR) have executed a power purchase agreement (PPA) that will bring the 200 MW Riverstart Solar Park to Indiana’s Randolph County. The solar park is expected to be operational in 2022 and will be the largest solar array in the state, producing enough clean electricity to power approximately 37,000 households. The project will also bring economic benefits to the region and to the state of Indiana in the form of jobs, landowner and tax payments, and money spent in local communities.

Central Iowa Power Cooperative adds 104MW of Wind

DATE: April 2, 2018

DES MOINES – Central Iowa Power Cooperative (CIPCO) announced development of the Heartland Divide Wind Farm, a major project to expand its wind energy platform, set for completion by the end of this year. CIPCO will purchase 100 percent of the output from the 104 MW facility owned by an affiliate of NextEra Energy Resources, adding to its already diverse energy portfolio, which is more than 60 percent carbon-free.

Arkansas Electric Cooperative adds 100MWs of solar

Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation (AECC) has announced it will buy up to 100MWac from a 800-acre solar farm near Crossett Arkansas.  AECC, a cooperatively owned Generation & Transmission (G&T) entity has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Renewable Energy Systems Inc. (RES) to purchase solar power from Crossett Solar Energy Farm starting in 2021.  National Renewable Cooperative Organization(NRCO) helped AECC fine tune language in a solar PPA provided by NRCO.  The addition of the solar PPA will raise AECC’s renewable portfolio to 17% of their total generation.

WVPA, Ranger Power to Triple Illinois Solar Capacity

Wabash Valley Power’s member co-ops will benefit from recently completed long-term agreements to purchase the energy and capacity generated by what will be the largest solar arrays ever built in Illinois.

Wabash Valley Power will be the sole buyer of the energy produced from two 99-megawatt (MW) arrays to be built by New York-based Ranger Power, a utility-scale solar development company. Wabash Valley Power will purchase the power produced by the arrays, while the renewable energy credits (RECs) associated with the projects will be sold through the Illinois Power Agency REC procurement process.
